fun fun fun. i'm back! haha just finished a camp with regent secondary school at jalan bahtera after being interviewed to be a camp instructor last tuesday. me and soon hock shared one group and boy is that group difficult to handle. but i enjoyed all the fun times.
relived the sec 3 days again opposite the scout camp, especially the high element courses and kayaking. haha but i did not go into the mud pool. i probably have to buy a wardrobe of cheap clothes to go into the mud pool everytime i go there. belaying was fun too, but i had to belay almost everyone so i ended up having very sore hands. think i liked kayaking the best, although i was quite positive i would capsize when i took the one man kayak cos its been quite a while since i last rowed with one. luckily i didn't capsize! it would have been super malu for the instructor to capsize >.<
super unlucky to rain during campfire night, but this is the first time i ever had an indoor campfire where they lit up a small fire in the hall. since my group was only half a class, we had to join up with my mirror group to perform, which they had no idea and CK (my mirror group instructor and mentor. guess wad, mi lu bing is his ns mate for 2.5 years) wanted me to teach NJ mass dance upside down to them (haha dismas and roman if you're reading this take note! haha copy right issues wahaha) i couldn't remember the whole original dance la! but dunno why when i was teaching that dance to the class, a lot of the instructors see me dance and say you from nj ah? haha they all say they saw the dance on youtube.
best of the camp was i get to bathe in the staff toilet. and mans is the staff toilet TOTALLY different from the students shower room. hot water and everything. even hot and cold water dispenser inside the toilet for drinking. sounds much better than my home toilet.
i think i was real fortunate to be given this first camp with all the other experienced instructors, cos there were a huge proportion of us that were new instructers, but the other half are all very experienced instructors, all of them super enthusiastic and not scared paiseh. haha something like elton, except with better responses from the students =p one of the instructers was actually my rv and nj senior la -.- older than me by one year. but apparently during my 4 years of being in the same school with her, i didn't seem to remember her. neither did she. one of the relief teachers there was also an njpa senior. 2 years older, but i didn't know who la. haha i bet if i go up and tell him i'm his junior he sure shocked. ultimate of small world is that the form teacher of my class i was taking is the mother of one of the house captains in nj now. hahaha. super small world.
